PSYCHOTHERAPY

I believe a life consists of many intertwined lives. We are not just one person throughout our lives, but many different people. A big part of being human is change, which is great but can also be confusing. As a therapist, I hope to help people navigate the transitions in their lives with grace and dignity. Therapy is about connection, trust, and relationship. I strive to create an environment in which emotional authenticity is encouraged and celebrated. Whether you’re working to process grief, dealing with problematic substance use, suffering from anxiety or depression--or just can’t seem to get your shit together, we can work together to forge a path forward. I work with individuals, families, and couples.

ABOUT PETER

I After growing up in NY, I went to Northwestern University in Chicago. From Chicago, I went back to NY to fulfill dreams of being a songwriter and musician. I spent much of the ’90s and early 00’s on the road playing music around the world with stops to live in NY, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas and long layover in Los Angeles. While in LA, I got sober, got bored with touring, worked at some treatment centers, got into working with newly sober folks who were returning to high risk environments (films, rock and roll touring, professional sports, home) and then went back to school to get a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles.

After years in private practice in Los Angeles,  specializing in substance use disorders, adolescents and young adults, My family and I moved to Austin, TX where I have a private practice, raise kids, run marathons and fear snakes. . I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and Texas and provide coaching and parent coaching via phone and video chat with folks anywhere.
