GROUP INFORMATION

This is an advanced marathon training group for runners seeking to improve their marathon performance. We run 9-12 miles on Tuesdays & Thursdays with one run being a quality workout (tempo, intervals, hills, etc.) and the other run being a medium long run. Saturdays are either easy long runs of 14-20+ miles or long run workouts. Runners should be comfortable with 50 miles/week and have marathon experience.

COACH BIO

I started running when I was 9 years old on Club Teams, then Junior High, High School and College Teams. My main race in college was the 3,000m Steeplechase, but my favorite race has always been the Mile. In College, I studied Anthropology and Kinesiology, I have a passion for understanding human adaptation. I’ve worn many hats in the Austin running community, including running specialty retail manager, coach, race director and chip timer. I’m married with 4 kids, there’s a 22-year age difference between my first and forth kiddo. As a coach, I believe that workouts should be specific, progressive and fun. Workouts should build you up mentally as well as physically in preparation for each peak performance.


COACH & TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

I care about the success of each athlete.  I believe that workouts should be specific, progressive and fun.  Training should build you up mentally as well as physically in preparation of each peak performance.  Every athlete has their own unique set of abilities and challenges, communication between coach and athlete is an essential part of any program.

As a coach it is my responsibility to foster a positive, supportive and inclusive environment.  I welcome runners from all backgrounds and experience levels.


GROUP DYNAMIC

Team Rogue Cedar Park is a group of mostly 35-60-year-olds pursuing goals of improvement not just as a runner but as a person. They are driven, supportive of each other, and positive. They check egos, drama, and negativity at the door. Our runners have demanding careers and/or families, and use running/competing as an outlet to do something positive for themselves. It is a diverse group of people that share one thing in common: running. We have runners focused on running a marathon under 3 hours to over 4 hours.

ORIGIN STORY

Back in Rogue’s beginning, the founders wanted to provide a more intense training schedule for runners wanting to run more miles. This group was an extension of that but has become so much more. We LOVE running as a team, traveling together, and achieving great things with support from each other. We play the LONG game with our goals with a healthy appreciation for running and community!
